Former Indian skipper and Captain M.S Dhoni holds a special place in the hearts of crazy cricket lovers in India. Known as captain cool, the news of him retiring and bidding goodbye to the field of cricket had started making rounds of the internet after India lost to New Zealand in the semi-final at the 2019 World Cup. Since then the former skipper has been training with the regiment in the Territorial Indian Army and now news of BCCI dropping his name from the contract list has made his fans emotional.

His avid followers posted several tweets of expressing their desire to see him once again rule the 22 yards and continue to make India proud in the game of cricket. However, so far no comment has been made by the cricketer himself. His fans also slammed BCCI for this step. As reported in India Today, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had shared meeting the former skipper in the month of November in 2019. The meeting was primarily to discuss about his future in the game of cricket, but back then he refused to comment on it and had asked them not to ask him anything till January. The former Indian skipper made India proud by leading the Indian cricket team to attain the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa and again won the World Cup for the country in the year 2011.
